I was on a Delphi forum earlier today called Boycott Ebay and this forum is urging everyone that does business with Ebay to Boycott this big auction web site.
I am urging everyone reading this message to follow suit and stop doing business with Ebay.
Instead of doing business with Ebay I want to help promote a new auction web site that I just signed up with today, for free, as a basic member. The new site is still in the process of growing. The fees are much lower on this web site than they are on Ebay and the members of this new auction site are very helpful to each other.
The name of this new auction web site that I would like everyone to visit is OnlineAuction.com.
I am not ready to sell anything on this new web site right now because this auction web site is still building up their memberships. The more people that become members of OnlineAuction.com the better things will be for both buyers and sellers.
All that I am trying to do here is spread the word about this new auction web site and I hope that you will sign up and then help spread the word about OnlineAuction.com.
Here is a another link related to boycotting the once all powerful Ebay http://www.myspace.com/boycottebay
On a separate note, if any of you want a lesson in what NOT to do when selling your jewelry online you should take a look at some of the jewelry scans and photographs on the OnlineAuction.com web site. They are the worst images of jewelry that I have ever seen.
I don’t know how anyone can expect to sell their jewelry or other craft items online when they are using images that look so terrible.
Those sellers definately need to buy and read my ebook, or at least visit my web site and this blog.
Goodbye Ebay, It was nice knowing you, but I must move on.

Hey Jim, thanks for linking to the myspace page.
You’ve caused some real excitement with us already, joining us in the chat, linking to us, getting onboard with OLA, and your enthusiasm to help win this fight against the big bad monster called ebay.
I really appreciate it when people get excited, because it energizes us, and empowers us to keep fighting on.
Thank you,
Tim

Hi Jim and other commenters.
What I am curious about is – how is it going for the individuals who switch from Ebay to OLA? I too, am thinking of switching, but will NOT switch to something that does not work at least as well as Ebay has done over the years. As angry as I get sometimes, I still have to admit that Ebay makes me some money…

Hello Mr. Natural,
Tank you very much for asking that question. The best thing that I can recommend for you to do to find out that answer is to join in on the chat that is held on Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. EST on the Boycott Ebay Delphi forum. Click on the chat button near the top of the page to participate.
For me, I don’t have anything that Iwant to sell so I can’t say one way or the other about selling on that auction web site.
I would like to recommend that you grraaadddduuuaaaallllllllllllllyyy start selling on OLA since this auction site is still growing.
Try selling a couple of items on OLA and see what happens, that will be the best way to find out the results and you may be surprised or you may be disappointed.
The more people that buy and sell there the better it will be for everyone.
Please don’t forget Tuesday evenings (tonight) at 8 p.m. on the Boycott Ebay Delphi forum.

Hello Mr. Natural
I must admit right now OLA traffic is slow but….it is growing everyday. I have had success there granted not like ebay but again I’m not paying the fees like I did on EBay. For $8.00 a month, no fvf’s, 4 free pictures it is worth it to me to sit back and watch them grow.
Please take Jim’s advice and list slowly on OLA to start, let your customers know that you are going to be moving to a new venue. Good Luck to you whichever you decide.
Stop by http://forums.delphiforums.com/boycottebay/start our Tues. nite Refugee chat at 8 EST.

Hi Mr. Natural
I am not really a seller. I do buy tho.
Here is what i can say about OLA.
1. They aren’t perfect.
We have taken a lot of things for granted with ebay. But, they have taken us for granted once too many times.
While they aren’t perfect, they are working hard to make themselves the best online auction site.
2. They listen to us.
The biggest reason I like OLA, is because we can call them, and they tend to like to hear our feedback and suggestions.
Try to get the others to do that.
3. For sellers, they charge $8 a month. Unless the seller uses promotional items, thats all they pay.
4. If you’re like me, and sell occasionally, you can downgrade to a free account those months you don’t sell. And no retribution.
5, They do everything possible and then some to get people to buy.
They have “games” that encourage people to buy from sellers. I’ve participated in that, and have ended up with some really cool experiences.
6. OLA has made it fun to bid again.
